The lavender here on the northern half of Earth is just beginning to wake up from the winter.  Although there are many varieties of lavenders which will bloom practically year round, only certain varieties can be used for the production of lavender items.  Other lavenders do not possess the same scent or properties as those derived from the species Lavendula augustifolia.

And if you love lavender, you know it is all about the scent and the wonderful properties of lavender oil!
